The course is based on the Desktop app i.e. you need to download and install Excel on your PC – not use the online version.
The online version won’t work exactly the same as the desktop.

There is no way to add it to older versions of Excel that I know of.
As long as you understand how it works from the videos you should be fine.
Alternatively, you can download a trial of Office 365 and cancel the trial before it charges you.
You can get a one month free trial this way which is enough time to do the whole course.

Those are 2 separate exams.
There are separate sections here on the portal for each of them and separate mock exams as well.

The importing of those bank transactions is not the only thing which can affect the VAT.
The processing of the customer transactions (e.g. sales invoices, credit notes, etc), supplier transactions (purchase invoices, returns, etc) also affect the VAT balance.
Unfortunately we don’t have a detailed breakdown of the amounts.
There are different versions of the manuals and in terms of the numbers there are errors as well.
However, this isn’t a cause of concern.
As long you understand conceptually how the amounts flow through you don’t need to worry if it doesn’t balance to the amount in the manual.

There are many different versions of the manual so I’d need to see what your one shows.

The CSV file already has headings i.e. there is no need to open the original file in Excel.
If you open it in Excel and save it you can cause the format to change (dependent on your Excel settings) and this is what could be causing the problem.
Please see the video below where I import the file as is i.e. without opening it in Excel.

Please note that the files are already in the correct format. They are CSV files with the headers i.e. you don’t need to open them in Excel and make any changes.
This could be causing the problem.
So please try again from the original download.
